ELAS provides support to OVH customers experiencing severe hardship, a disaster or emergency. It is there to meet one-off needs and not ongoing expenses through the provision of redeemable vouchers, travel warrants, essential household goods or referral to a support service.

The fund is available for new customers moving to an OVH property or for existing customers to help maintain their current homes. Applicants can apply for a one off grant to the maximum value of £450 during their tenancy. The fund can be used to provide items considered essential to maintaining a tenancy, including furniture removal, bedding, sofa, fridge, freezer, carpets, blinds, cutlery and crockery.
